The contribution of the Directeur général des élections du Québec (DGEQ) (Chief Electoral Officer of Quebec) enables the project to be coherent with democracy education programs, like Young Voters, put forward by this institution for 15 years. Moreover, the DGEQ’s participation gives the mock federal, provincial, municipal and school board elections a sense of reality, making the project more interesting for students.

This participation is consistent with the CDEC’s mission to favor greater citizen participation in the development of the Quebec society. The CDEC contributes through teacher’s training and citizen competence development, particularly for young people.

Let us mention the important participation of Elections Canada, through our pan-Canadian counterpart, Student Vote, during federal elections. During election periods, we also rely on the collaboration of various partners from the municipal, scholar, union and community spheres; amongst others, the city of Montreal, the Commission scolaire de Montréal, the Fédération des municipalités du Québec and the Union des municipalités du Québec.
